Zooming with xgraph
One of xgraph's best features is its ability to zoom in to areas of particular interest.
This image shows 3 successive zooms, and preparing to zoom a forth time.
This image shows the same 3 graphs from above, and the new 4th graph.
xgraph Notes
- xgraph is a fantastic utility, and it's been around a long time.
- xgraph allows zooming all the way down to an individual data point.
- Each graph window can be resized as required.
- However, selecting too small an area in one step can be a problem.
- Zooming to a very small area may require multiple zoom steps.
- These days (and on Linux), xgraph cannot graph a huge number of metrics on the same graph.
- That's not as bad as it sounds because such a graph would be very hard to read anyway.
- xgraph did not have these problems years ago, so...
- If someone has time to update xgraph, these limitations could presumably be eliminated.
- A huge thank you to the xgraph developers.
